Burn Ban No More in Clay and Young Counties

Commissioners in Clay and Young Counties lifted burn bans Monday.
Officials in two Texoma counties decide to lift their respective counties' burn bans today.
Both Clay and Young counties are no longer under a ban.
Recent rains have helped improve drought conditions, which is why the bans were lifted.
Clay County Judge Kenneth Liggett says he doesn't expect Clay County's ban to be lifted for long, though.
He says commissioners will discuss reinstating the ban at their Sept. 10 meeting.
Archer, Wilbarger, Foard, Baylor, Wichita, and Throckmorton still have burn bans in place.
A statewide burn ban remains in effect in Oklahoma.
