Some Wichita Falls students are using their creativity to raise cash for a future homeless shelter for women and children.

Students at Christ Academy are raising money for Faith Refuge homeless shelter in a colorful way.

They're decorating canister that will be used to collect change.

The theme of the Small Change Project is "Have a Heart the Homless," which is exactly what students here developed, thanks to this fundraiser.

"Some people, that's their circumstances and that they can't control anything that happens to them and that some are even born into that and that just develops through their entire lives. And, I really appreciate Faith Mission for what they do for the community," says Jansen Rouillard, who is a junior high student at Christ Academy.

This is the second year Christ Academy students have participated in the Small Change Project.

The fundraiser ends March 7th, so expect to see many student in their neighborhoods this weekend using their cans to collect change for the homeless.
