Most people know it as The Cattle Baron's Ball. But it's really a party with a purpose. The event is a fundraiser for The American Cancer Society and raise funds it did ! More than 1,300 people packed J.S. Bridwell Ag Center to feast on a barbecue dinner, bid on auction items, and listen to country great Jerry Jeff Walker. In the end : attendees helped raise $400,000 dollars. The money funds research. But it also funds two programs: "The Reach to Recovery", which helps breast cancer patients and "The Road to Recovery", which is where volunteers drive cancer patients to and from their treatments.
