(WTHR) Everywhere you look, it seems everyone is tuned in to their smartphone. But are you ready for the next level of interactive technology?

One local entrepreneur is upgrading to "Google Glass."

Mark LaFay knows all about the evolution of computing. He has vintage desktops around his office that serve as reminders of years gone by.

But now, Mark is focused squarely on the future.

"I thought about wearing it around the O'Hare airport, but it's so new and so crazy-looking. that I think it freaks people out," he said.

Mark is beta-testing Google Glass, the head-mounted computer that you wear like glasses.

A prism in front of your eye projects a tiny video display that wirelessly connects to the internet. It can take pictures, videos, and do instant Google searches by voice command.

"I can just turn it on. Say, okay, glass, Google. How do you say good morning in Chinese? Zao An. So it's just amazing," he said.
