Closing Arguments Start Tomorrow Morning in Meth Lab Trial

Ronnie Dabney is on trial in the 30th District Court.  He's charged with manufacture of a controlled substance over 400 grams.
Testimony wrapped today in the trial of a man accused of being involved a meth lab operation off Rathegeber Road in 2010.
Attorneys will make closing arguments tomorrow morning in 30th District Court.
A police officer testified today about the arrest of Ronnie Dabney, and others, accused of manufacture of a controlled substance over 400-grams.
The officer said he found drugs during a search warrant of a home in the 800 block of Rathgeber.
He said there was a strong smell of ether coming from the home and that he smelled ether on Dabney, suggesting he was involved in cooking methamphetamine.
The officer stated he found numerous baggies of meth in a car parked outside the home and in a bedroom.
And, he said he found ingredients and materials necessary to make meth inside the house.
There was also an active security system at the property.
The officer stated that might have been so those making meth were able to monitor the property, and make sure no one was patrolling it.
Defense Attorney Mark Barber questioned the officer, who said he did not know how long Dabney or the other five people arrested were on the property.
A verdict is expected in the case tomorrow.
