13th District Congressman Mac Thornberry is touring local health facilities and stopped at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital Tuesday afternoon.

He stopped in to talk about the impact of the Affordable Care Act and hear health care employees and business owners' concerns about the implementation of the new insurance plan.

The CEO of HealthSouth says they have no idea how getting paid through the ACA plan is going to work, so for now, they are just focusing on taking care of patients needs and worrying about hearing from the insurance agencies later.

Congressman Thornberry says the administrative problems with the ACA are just a small aspect of the issues with the roll out of the program.

“The trend that I hear from doctors, from nurses and facilities like this is, more and more it doesn't really matter what the doctor says the patient needs. It's what they choose to cover and how much of it they choose to cover that determines what the patient gets,” says Thornberry.

Thornberry toured Wilbarger General Hospital Monday.
