Councilors Approve Fiscal Year 2012-2013 Budget

The budget passed in a 5-1 vote.
    In a five-one vote, Wichita Falls City Councilors approve the 2012-2013 fiscal year budget.
    That includes an increase in your property taxes.
    District 4 Councilor Tim Ingle was the only councilor to vote against the budget.
    A property tax increase was approved with a four-two vote.
    Councilor Ingle and District Two Councilor Annetta Pope-Dotson were the councilors to vote against the tax increase.
    Your property taxes will go up about one cent per $100 of property value.
    So, for a homeowner with a $100-thousand home, your property taxes will go up about $10 per year.
