Couple Prepares for Hotter'N Hell as They Celebrate Where They Met

A Wichita Falls couple is preparing to ride in the 25 mile ride of the Hotter'N Hell Hundred as they celebrate where they first met at the ride.
The weekend many two wheel peddalers love more than any other is just days away, and for two former Hotter'N Hell Hundred volunteers, that love has blossomed into year round romance.

Keith and Melanie Schoby met two years ago while volunteering at the ride selling Hotter'N Hell merchandise.

Now as a married couple they have decided to ride the 25 mile ride together, and say it will remind them of the first time they met.

"We were both volunteering at the consumer show on Saturday morning selling the Hotter'N Hell merchandise," Keith says.

They say it was love at first site the two had both volunteered in years past, but had yet to cross paths.

But a few days after finally meeting at the show, Keith invited Melanie to grab some frozen yogurt, where the couple say they talked for hours.

"I thought she had a beautiful smile and once we got to talking a little bit was very fun to be around," Keith says.

The Schobys were married a few weeks ago.

They say the annual Hotter'N Hell Hundred is a great way to get involved in the community, and they recommend people all over Texoma to get involved.

"I think a lot of people do meet, not necessarily their future spouse but meet people that become life long friends, whether it's other riders or people from other towns and other areas and then come back and relive those memories and ride again," Keith says.

And for the Schobys, each year will be a time to relive memories, and also to celebrate their lives that have been joined together.

"It was again a totally unexpected event that we met two years ago and so we're going to try to celebrate that each year."

Melanie and Keith say they've been preparing for the ride for months.

And it's not too late to get involved with the ride, you never know who you could meet.

Just head to www.hh100.org.

And don't forget KFDX will have special coverage Saturday morning.
