Dozens of third and fourth graders got a change of scenery Tuesday after police say a man plowed into a classroom at Cunningham Elementary.

WFISD maintenance continued to replace windows that were shattered around 10:00 Monday morning.

Police say a 74 year-old man lost control of his vehicle due to a medical condition and drove into a classroom.

School officials say the building has been deemed safe by structural engineers, but are still waiting to hear from the insurance adjuster.

School officials say about 80 fourth and fifth graders will remain in other classrooms to continue their daily learning.

“We have made arrangements to have all curriculum taking to the new location in order for the students to continue,” said Richelle Williams the Cunningham Principal.

School officials say kids were more concerned about the man in the accident and plan to make cards for him.
