Hundreds of people captured history at the Kickapoo airport Tuesday, watching a historic plane's final flight.
The 1917 Curtiss Jenny did one final show at the Kickapoo airport.
Folks young and old took in the moment as the plane soared through the sky.
For many, it was the first and last time they'd ever see the sight.
“It's an old plane we will never get to see it again. There aren't many in existence and of course this is the last flight for this one so it was a great opportunity to see it,” said Dan Gagne, a spectator.
Thirty-four pilots died learning to fly the Jenny, but that was the smallest number of training deaths of any of the army's 32 flight training fields.
Now that the Jenny has retired from the skies it will have a new home in the new terminal at the municipal airport.
