Midwestern State senior Kirsti Degelia was honored for her strong play last week by the Lone Star Conference who named her the LSC Offensive Player of the Week.

Degelia led MSU to a 70-69 Lone Star Conference triumph over Cameron in the Red River Rivalry in the Mustangs only game of the week.

The 5-8 senior guard from Denton, Texas/Krum, scored 18 points with five assists leading to 11 more points. She shot 7-of-11 from the floor (63.6 percent), 1-3 from the 3-point arc and 3-of-3 from the free throw line. She also recorded two rebounds, three steals and one blocked shot.

Degelia is the seventh leading scorer in Midwestern State history and with 1,290 points needs only 10 more to reach the 1,300 point plateau.

Degelia joins West Texas A&M forward Chontiquah White who collected 20 points and 10 rebounds in WT's 82-54 win over Eastern New Mexico and was named the LSC's Defensive Player of the Week.

MSU, 13-7 on the season and 5-4 in LSC play, returns to the hardwood on Wednesday night in Stephenville for a rematch with Tarleton State (15-3, 6-2). Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. at Wisdom Gym.
