Construction of the new Wichita Falls Regional Airport terminal was slowed by some of the cold and windy weather this winter, but workers are quickly making up lost ground, and the city says they still hope to hit the Thanksgiving opening date.

Today the city will have a topping out ceremony as the last piece of structural steel is put in place. Then workers can move forward with the walls and roof.

The new terminal will be 50,000 square feet, compared to about 17,500 in the current, 50 year old terminal.

Total cost is about $25 million.

The city has a web cam that updates every few minutes so you can keep up with construction of the terminal: http://oxblue.com/pro/?webPath=ths/spsregionalairport
