Despite Generous Donors, Donations are Still Needed for Homeless Shelters

Two Wichita Falls homeless shelters have received some recent generous donations that helped during the latest bout of winter weather but managers say more donations are needed.
The snow and cold temperatures caused the homeless to make their way to homeless shelters in Wichita Falls.

Managers say Faith Refuge for Women and Faith Mission were both at near capacity last night. But mangers say generous donors supplied both Faith Refuge with a large food donation and Faith Mission with a huge box of hats and gloves.

However, shelter officials say despite that generosity there is still a need for several other items at both shelters.

"Socks.  We  never have enough dry, clean socks to give out and then, toiletries.  Toilet paper is always at the top of the list and toothpaste, toothbrushes," says Vicky Payne, marketing director at Faith Mission.

Over the past few weeks managers say volunteers have fed about 100 people per day, which has resulted in a shortage of the following items at Faith Mission:
Meats (Hams, Turkeys, Beef, Chicken)
Canned Vegetables
Canned Fruits

Other needed items include the following:
Bath Towels
Coffee
Diapers
Silverware
Tea Bags - Large
Toilet Paper
Paper Towels for Dispenser
Powered Laundry Detergent

You can donate through the following ways:
