An ongoing dispute over an Archer County easement escalates to involve a gun and law enforcement.

Around 3 p.m., Archer County deputies were called to a home in the 1100 block of Decker Road. Officials say the elderly homeowner pulled a gun on a private tree cutting crew that was hired by the neighbor who lives behind him.

According to officials, the two homeowners have disputed for some time over where their individual properties begin and the easement ends. And Friday, officials say tensions intensified when the elderly man confronted the tree cutting crew.

"When they began cutting trees, the elderly man was concerned that the trees are his and he doesn't want them cut down.  A physical confrontation ensued where both parties were injured, evidently from fighting through the barbed wire with one another," says Chief Deputy Simon Dwyer with Archer County Sheriff's Office.

Officials say no shots were fired but both parties received cuts to their forearms and hands. The case remains under investigation.
