Dog Hides in Fire Truck to Escape Wichita Falls House Fire

A Wichita Falls dog escaped a house fire in the 1400 block of Redbud by hiding in a firetruck. She wasn't found until hours later.
A Wichita Falls dog knew exactly where to hide to escape her family's home when it caught on fire last night.

Witnesses on scene say they saw the dog running from the home but didn't know where she went.

After putting out that fire and going on a couple more calls, Wichita Falls firefighters say they went back to the station and saw the dog's leg dangling under the engine of one of their firetrucks.

Animal control officers arrived on scene to help get the dog out because she was wedged in so tightly.

She's receiving treatment and will then be reunited with her owners.

The dog lived at a home in the 1400 block of Redbud Lane, which caught fire around 9:20 Friday night.

That home is reportedly a total loss.
