Drought Affecting Wichita County Landscape Choices

The drought is making things more difficult for new construction in Texoma.
The drought is making things more difficult for new construction in Texoma.

Monday Wichita County Commissioners who've been overseeing multiple construction projects are voting on a contract with the city of Wichita Falls that would prohibit new landscaping until the city goes back down to stage 1 or 2 water restrictions.

They're currently working on new parking lots that would normally have some landscaping in and around them.

If this measure passes, that landscaping would not be put in.

County Judge Woody Gossom says it's a deal the city is trying to make with a variety of businesses because we're all in this drought together.

Commissioners are expected to discuss that topic at their meeting Monday morning.
