Duncan Police say a bank robbery suspect took a taxi from the scene of the crime yesterday, and was later arrested at an Oklahoma City Burger King, with most of the stolen money.

40 year-old George Lynn Netherton is in the Stephens County Jail after being brought back after his capture by a Highway Patrol officer.

Duncan Detective Donny Foraker says it was the "mobile cops" instant car-to-car teletype that helped catch the suspect.  He says after the IBC Bank robbery call came in, police searched the area of Main and 10th and decided to check with a nearby taxi company.

Sure enough, they said a man matching the surveillance photo came in and took a cab to Oklahoma City.  Police immediately sent the alert to all agencies, and in Oklahoma City, a Highway Patrol unit spotted the cab.  Soon after that, the trooper spotted Netherton coming out of the nearby Burger King.  He did not resist arrest and no weapon was found, but Foraker says most of the money was recovered.
