Three friends from Holland have opened up a special European-style coffee and lunchroom at The Forum on Speedway ... and they want to bring a taste of Europe to Texoma.
The three ladies (Ellen Beenhakker, Heleen Idema, & Esther Van Gaalen) all moved here because their husbands are instructor pilots at Sheppard ... And they they came together because they missed a piece of their homeland: Coffee, unlike what we have in America.

Heleen Idema
Dutchess at the Forum

"You know, in Europe, you used to go with friends to a cafe and sit there for hours & visit together, & that's the way we have coffee. We don't know coffee to go in our country. I don't think - you know, you can even get those paper cups. So we want our coffee in a normal cup and be able to sit somewhere & relax & have nice music & just visit with friends. And we were missing a place like that in Wichita Falls."

So, the three decided to combine their talents and open what they're calling "Dutchess" -- spelled with a "t" to reflect their Dutch heritage.
Dutchess is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 in the morning until 2 ... And also on special occasions and by reservation.
It features a European coffee and lunch menu ... and you can also purchase European- inspired decor.
