Early Monday Morning Storm Cuts Power for Oncor Customers

Winds from the early Monday morning thunderstorm not only uprooted trees, but also knocked out electricity across the area.
Winds not only uprooted trees, but also knocked out electricity across the area. At this hour, Oncor officials say that number has been reduced to more than 400 people. However, officials say dozens of customers off Jacksboro Highway will remain in the dark for a little longer.

"We had approximately 10 poles that went down so the restoration efforts in that part of town will be a little slower than what it is in the outlying areas than some of the areas in Wichita Falls proper where we just had main line devices where we could actually send men out and refuse and get them back on," says Gordon Drake, area manager with Oncor.

Oncor is bringing in crews from Graham, Mineral Wells and Brownsville to replace the downed power poles. They hope to have power restored as early as sometime Tuesday. To view Oncor power outages, click on the following link:
