Electra City Leaders to Discuss Filling Police Chief Position

After officially being without a police chief since January, Electra city officials plan to finally discuss filling vacant position during tomorrow's city commission meeting

After officially being without a police chief since January, Electra city officials plan to finally discuss filling vacant position during Teusday's city commission meeting.

Following months of tension and 11 years on the job, Electra city leaders voted 4 to 1 to fire Chief Johnny Morris.

But instead of quickly filling the Electra police chief position city leaders decided to first get the police department back up to full staff. The job has not be posted.

And tomorrow, leaders will discuss if they want to fill the police chief position in house or search statewide for qualified applicants.

That meeting gets underway Tuesday at 5:30 p-m. at Electra City Hall.
