After several police officers and staff members leave the Electra Police Department tonight, we are hearing that even more people are leaving the force. KFDX learned three dispatchers plan to leave the police department as of midnight.

We called City Administrator Larry Pannell to confirm this. Pannell told us three dispatchers quit without notice but said the Electra area will have all  time periods covered with someone answering 911 calls.

According to Wichita County Sheriff David Duke the calls will be answered by several sheriff's office records clerks who he says have dispatch experience. Sheriff Duke says the dispatchers will not be contracted to work in Electra but will work part-time and be paid by the City of Electra.

Police Chief Johnny Morris remains on leave for medical care.
