The filing period to run for city offices in Texoma opened Wednesday and one Wichita Falls candidate has already filed for re-election.

Mayor Glenn Barham filed Wednesday morning for his third term as mayor. Under the term limit law, it would be his last consecutive term he can serve as mayor.

Barham was elected mayor in 2010, after serving as at-large city councilor. He served with the police department more than 30 years.

Races on the ballot on May 10 are mayor, and districts 3, 4 and 5 city council seats, held respectively now by Brian Hooker, Tim Ingle and Mary Ward.

Ingle is expected to file for re-election also, but is not on the candidate filing list on the city web site yet.

The Wichita Falls Firefighters Association has already announced it will endorse Ingle.

Candidates can file for office by paying a filing fee of $100 or turning in a petition signed by at least 50 qualified voters.
The filing period ends February 28.
