First Floor Wichita County Courthouse Entrance Reopens

First Floor Wichita County Courthouse Entrance Reopens

The renovated east entrance of the Wichita County Courthouse opened Monday.
After several months of construction, the Wichita County Courthouse entrance on the first floor is back open.
The entrance, which is located on the east side of the courthouse, got plenty of use today.
The new-and-improved entryway is an open space and has a couple benches for sitting.
It was redone along with parts of the first and second floors.
    Renovations total $1.8 million.
Those funds came out of the county's Permanent Improvement Fund, which has built up over the years, so tax rates in recent years, including in the new budget, were not affected.
