The Wichita Falls health officials are confirming the first human west nile case but say that person did not contract the virus here.
Health director, Lou Kreidler, says the 19 year old male was in Austin at college when he started having symptoms, then came home to Wichita Falls where his condition worsened.
She says he was hospitalized and is now out and doing fine.
Kreidler says the lack of rain in our area has produced few areas of stagnant water and complaints from residents.
However, she does say, if you have collected rain water, cover the container to prevent mosquitoes from laying eggs in the water.
