An addition to enhance visitation at a Wichita Falls park is finished but public is not free to enjoy it just yet.
Earlier this week, crews completed the installation of a floating dock at Lake Wichita Park.
That structure allows visitors to either fish or take in the view from 70 feet out onto the lake.
But city parks and recreation officials say although the dock is finished they are not ready for visitors to use it yet.
"We still have some hand railing that needs to be done for safety reasons that need to be done on the sidewalk coming down. Officially, it won't be open probably for a couple of weeks. They're being fabricated in the shop right now," says Wichita Falls Parks Superintendent Terry Points,
The $85,000 project is funded through the Wichita Falls 4B Sales Tax Board and is the fourth and final item of an improvement project at Lake Wichita Park.
