Two pieces of property on the east side of the city... damaged in the 2007 flood will be used for open space or recreational purposes.
The properties are at 430 Woods and 323 Tulsa.
City Property Administrator Pat Hoffman says since the city used money from a FEMA grant to demolish the houses at those addresses, nothing can be built on the properties ... and those properties cannot be sold.
Both properties were set to be auctioned off because back taxes were owed on them.
But since no one bid on the properties ... the city, county, and school district jointly own them.
This morning, county commissioners agreed to sign the warranty deed and transfer the properties to the city.
Property upkeep will be the city's responsibility.
