FNF Preview: 2014 Bowie Jackrabbits

2014 Friday Night Football Preview Bowie Jackrabbits
The 2013 Bowie Jackrabbits hopped their way back into the playoffs for the 2nd time in three seasons.
Now as we get into the 2014 campaign, this Bowie team feels that it is "Our Time" to take the next step in building a football program.
Dylan Stark, Bowie head football coach-"It means its Our Time to win a playoff game. But our time to do the little things right. It starts with getting to practice on time. Keeping the locker room clean. The little things. I feel the little things will lead to big things."
Jay Ward, Bowie senior running back-"We have picked up the intensity level we have picked it up in practice. We have had nobody miss practice. We haven't taken a day off for anything. We are always on the field. We always want to work hard.
The Jackrabbits have some good experience coming back.
6 on offense while on defense 8 players return.
Head coach Dylan Stark says one big thing he wants his Jackrabbit team to do is a little bit more of the ground and pound.
Stark-"I feel like you gotta be able to run the ball. I feel like good teams are able to run the ball. That will set up our passing game. We have some receivers who are athletic and can go and get the ball. But I feel like if you can't run the ball it is going to be hard to get the ball in those guys hands.
Bowie could make a case for having the toughest non district schedule in the area.
The five teams they play made the playoffs last season with a combined record of 40-19.
Stark-"Every non district game is going to be like a playoff game. Hirschi, Lake Worth, Henrietta, Pottsboro, Gunter everyone of those is going to be tough. There's nothing easy about those. If we do not show up and play we are going to be in trouble in those as well.
Jesse Vaughn, Bowie senior DB/RB-"It is going to prepare us very well. We are going to see where we are at. We are going to take it one game at a time after that. We play Hirschi first at Memorial Stadium. To see what we need to improve on. Improve for the next game to keep going one game at a time."
Playing a tough schedule, improving the running game, and accountability.
All recipes of for making it "Our Time" for Bowie.
Carter Shackelford, Bowie Junior RB-"I think we will get back to the playoffs because we want to play a lot harder this year. Our goal is to not only to make the playoffs but to win the first round game and to go on. Because we haven't done it in a while. We are trying to work hard on that."
