President Obama will visit Fort Hood on Tuesday to attend a memorial service for those killed in last week's shootings.
There are reports that the gunman, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, is now off of a ventilator and able to speak.
Meantime, there is a sense that the shock is beginning to wear-off for many at this Army post.
"I think we're entering a new phase, a healing phase at ft hood," said the posts's top officer, Gen. Bob Cone.
A big part of that phase includes tomorrow's memorial.
We're learning a bit more now about details of that service.
Family members of all 13 people killed in the attack will be a part of the memorial, after a private meeting with President Obama.
Families of the wounded and victims released from the hospital will be recognized as well.
As for the ceremony, General Cone says it will be a traditional military memorial.
