A local band plays a benefit show Sunday night, in memory of Jean Davidson, a Wichita Falls woman who lost her battle with colon cancer almost four months ago.
Bryan Davidson describes his mother, Jean, as a compassionate and loving woman.
"She would just do anything to help anybody," said Bryan Davidson.
Bryan said his mother lived life to the fullest even after she was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer last year.
"Ah it happened so fast," said Davidson.
After her passing long time friend and lead singer of "It Hurts To Be Dead" wanted to help the family with the mountain of medical bills.
"The Iron Horse Pub has always been a very good place for benefit shows and helping out with the community and things like that, and it's always good to play music for a cause for a purpose," said Sean Synder.
"I was just really worried about dad as far as the financial worries go. Because he is able to pay a lot of the bills off it's just i don't want him to be left paying a house and home on all of these," said Davidson.
Snyder's band took the stage along with "Twice Broken". Both bands dedicated their performance to Jean, Who Snyder says was instrumental to his career as a musician.
"Bryan and I used to be in a band together. He's a musician and she always very supportive to her son," said Synder.
As the music filled the space inside the Iron Horse Pub, the memory of the woman they lost began pulling on the heart strings of the Davidson family.
"You never know really if you are supposed to be happy, sad, grateful, anything like that. At least that's the way it's been for me," said Davidson.
Through it all, the Davidson family says they're happy to gather with friends and family to share memories and stories of the woman they loved so much.
