Friends of Wichita Falls Public Library Hold Sale of Donated Books

Proceeds from the event go to funding programs for to encourage children to read.
Youth literacy is being taken to a new level in Wichita Falls after hundreds of dollars are raised through a fundraiser.

The Wichita Falls Public Library and Friends of Wichita Falls Public Library hosted their regular sale of books this afternoon.

Each book is either donated to Friends of the Public Library by the community or given by the Wichita Falls Public Library when they are no longer in use.

Proceeds from the sale go to "Children of the Library," a program to keep reading alive for the youth of Wichita Falls.

Organizers say with the large collection of books, even if you aren't much of a reader, you're bound to find something you will like.

Volunteer Rebecca Diaz said of the collection, "They basically have a variety of everything, they have children's books over in this room over here. We have a range from children to psychology, we also have fiction from A to Z and then we also have humor and mysteries."

The next planned sale will happen April 5th at the Grant Street location.
