Fundraiser for Paralyzed Paramedic Pat Bryan

An Archer City Paramedic is making progress in his recovery, after being paralyzed in a wreck last month.
Treva Collins, a friend of Pat Bryan's, said he was giving CPR to a patient when the ambulance they were riding in was struck by another car back on April 16th.

Pat has since been diagnosed as a paraplegic.

However, Collins said he is starting to regain some sensation in his legs.

To help him cover the costs of his medical bill, a group of fellow paramedics is organizing a special fundraiser for the long time Texoma first responder.

"He risked his life to save someone else's," explained Collins, "and that's what we as paramedics do everyday. We don't do it for anything other than trying to help somebody and be a part of our community."

The S.T.A.N.D. (Spinal Trauma And Neurological Deficit) for Pat Bryan benefit barbeque will be Sunday, June 10th at Outskirts Nightclub in Wichita Falls.

Activities include a 100 mile motorcycle fun run, as well as live and silent auctions.

Tickets will be $8 in advance, $10 at the door.

For more information, contact Treva Collins at (940) 632-0466.
