A murder charge in connection with Wichita Falls' 5th homicide of the year has apparently been dismissed after the grand jury returns a no bill on the charge.

The county jail log shows the murder charge is dismissed, but 38 year old Carlos Lynn Byrd still remains jailed on several other felony charges.

Byrd was arrested last month south of Dallas for the August 2nd shooting death of 26 year old Glenn King Jr. on Bailey Avenue.

King later died in the hospital.

After Byrd was brought back to Wichita County on the murder charge, he was also charged with 2 counts of aggravated robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

His bonds on those charges total more than 2 million dollars.

He and 19 year old Tavares Byrd are charged with a shooting and robbery at the Catalina Motel. A woman says three men burst into the room, demanded money and shot her boyfriend.

At this time, we do not know if the murder charge may be re-filed. We have no official word on the status of the case from the district attorney's office.
