Guilty on All Counts

Former Fort Sill soldier Kevon McLaren has been found guilty of 15 charges, including aggravated robbery, kidnapping  and shooting with intent to kill.
McLaren was found guilty of all charges filed against him for his part in a home invasion one year ago in Lawton in which four people were shot and 2 more wounded.

McLaren was among 4 soldiers involved in the attack, and McLaren was the one who fired the shots.

McLaren and his alleged accomplices bound 6 people with duct tape; stole guns, phones and other items; and then shot four of the victims, two of them in the head.

Don Gutterige, McLaren's lawyer, said, " The judge I think said it probably best, it was pretty much a slam dunk. The witnesses clearly identified him, in fact, all the victims identified him. The only real issue in that case was his intent."

McLaren was tried for a robbery of an EZ Go gas station at the same time. He was also found guilty in that case.

District Attorney Eddie Valdez said both the cases were pretty open and shut, and he's happy with the court's decision.

"When you have four people get shot, especially two people get shot in the head, it's quite clear he intended on trying to kill these people," said Valdez.

On the advise of his attorney, McLaren waved his right to a jury trial.

He faces multiple life-in-prison sentences.

Judge Allen McCall will hand down McLaren's punishment on November 27th.
