Helping Hands and Hearts Touches Texoma Lives

Lisa Hatcher is our Spirit of Texoma Award winner for helping others with her hands and showing them true heart.

A WICHITA FALLS WOMAN HAS FOUND A WAY TO GET THOSE THINGS TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM THE MOST AND FOR THAT LISA HATCHER IS THIS MONTH'S SPIRIT OF TEXOMA AWARD WINNER.
Lisa Hatcher says, "These are families that are transitioning into a home after being homeless."
THE DOORS OF THE HELPING HANDS AND HEARTS RESALE SHOP ARE ALWAYS OPEN.
FROM INFANTS, TO GIRLS AND BOYS AND EVEN TOYS, THE HELPING HEARTS AND HANDS RESALE SHOP IS SELLING AT 2.49 OR 1.99.
EVERY DOLLAR SPENT HERE HELPS TEXOMA FOLKS WHO HAVE FALLEN ON HARD TIMES GET BACK ON THEIR FEET.
SINCE 2009 HELPING HANDS AND HEARTS HAS HELPED 285 TEXOMA FAMILIES.

Lisa says, "We take the time to tell them you are going to be a survivor.  We take the time to tell them things are going to be okay."

ENCOURAGING WORDS AND A LITTLE SHOP THAT HAS EVERYTHING THESE FOLKS AND THEIR FAMILIES NEED, FOR FREE.

Lisa explains, "Definately dishes, linens, pots and pans, utensils things they will need to cook in the kitchen.  These are things families will need that are basic living necessities that they literally just don't have."

THE STORE RELIES ON DONATIONS TO KEEP THE SHELVES STOCKED AND RACKS FULL.

Lisa mentions, "We're just a little bitty group here in WF and we get donations everyday.  It seems like when we get a space cleaned out on our floor it just fills right up."

THEY ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR A FEW MORE VOLUNTEERS.

Lisa says, "When you are a volunteer and you are able to witness a client coming in and asking for help and us going through the process of finding out what their situation is and what we can do to help them you realize that just your words, your kind words, your optimitstic giving spirit makes as much of a difference in their lives as the few things we are able to give them."

LISA HATCHER SHOWS THAT GIVING SPIRIT OF TEXOMA INSIDE THE HELPING HANDS AND HEARTS SHOP AND IS SHOWING MANY WHEN ONE DOOR CLOSES, HERS WILL BE OPEN.
LISA ALSO VOLUNTEERS AS A MEMBER OF THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF WICHITA FALLS.
IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO MIGHT NEED THE ASSISTANCE OF HER SHOP OR IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP BY DONATING OR VOLUNTEERING YOU CAN FIND OUT MORE BY GOING TO www.helpinghandsandhearts.com
