HHH Advanced Registration Numbers Up 44 Percent

Ride organizers say they don't know whether 100-milers are becoming more comfortable with online registration or if they should expect thousands more riders at this year's Hotter 'n Hell, but whatever the case, they say they welcome the increase in registrants.
With just 37 days left until this year's Hotter 'n Hell Hundred bike ride, organizers say advanced registration numbers are the highest they've ever been
They say since the beginning of June, this year's registration numbers have consistently been at least 20-percent higher than last year's.
Chip Filer, the executive director of the ride, says the 100 mile riders are excited about the new route, which takes them through Sheppard Air Force Base.
He says that could be a reason registration numbers are up.
Six weeks before last year's Hotter 'n Hell, nearly 26-hundred riders had registered.
This year, 3744 riders have registered.
That's an increase of more than 44 percent.
This year's 100 mile endurance ride is Saturday, August 25.
