A high speed chase ends when a man crashes into a Wichita County sheriff's vehicle.

Just after midnight a deputy tried to stop a motorcyclist who ran a red light, but when he tried to pull him over, officials say the driver took off at a high rate of speed.

Wichita County Sheriff David Duke says the chase lasted around 10 minutes, ending when the motorcyclist crashed into the deputy's vehicle going about 50 miles per hour.

The man was taken to the hospital, and Sheriff David Duke says he will be booked into jail when he is healthy enough.

Sheriff David Duke says the man is a known drug offender but has not released his name.

Sheriff Duke believes the motorcycle may have been stolen. He says the VIN number had been scratched off.
