Hundreds Celebrate MLK Jr's Life and Legacy

Also at the breakfast, more than $20-thousand in scholarship money was awarded to area youth.
Hundreds of people gathered at the MPEC this morning to remember the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Dozens of people attended the 23rd annual MLK Prayer and Scholarship Breakfast.
Organizers say the event is a great time for community fellowship, which is a good way to start the new year.
Dorothy Roberts-Burns, who organized the breakfast, says, "It's one time during the year where you can bring people in the community of all walks of life to eat, pray, and visit, and I think this is a joyous time for our community."
During this year's breakfast, 16 scholarships totaling more than $20-thousand were awarded to Wichita Falls students.
