Interfaith Ministries prepares to aid people with their utility bills

Interfaith Ministires asking community for donations to help those in need of assistance with their utility bills.

As the fall and winter seasons approach, the need to help those struggling to stay afloat will increase.

Interfaith Ministries is asking for your help to assist those in need.

Jean Payne, executive director of Interfaith Ministries, says this is the time of year when they see the most people in Wichita County and the City of Holliday struggle to pay off high electric bills.

Interfaith offers a bill assistance program to those seeking help but Payne says it all depends on how much money is available.

Payne says the community's contributions have allowed them to help those in need for the last 31 years.

"Without public support, then we are unable to do what we do," Payne says. "We solict funds year round from the community. The community is usually pretty generous."

Also, Payne adds they are always accepting donations for its food pantry.

If you would like to help, you can mail or drop off donations at Interfaith Ministries at 1101 11th Street.
