Jackson Co. Jailer Jailed for Alleged Relationship with Inmate

Tonya Sue Brand is charged with a felony count of sodomy by a government employee and second-degree rape.

A Jackson County jailer is jailed herself after authorities say they learned she was having a sexual relationship with an inmate.

Forty-one year-old Tonya Sue Brand of Altus is out of jail on a $15- hundred bond.

She's charged with a felony count of sodomy by a government employee and second-degree rape.

According to an arrest affidavit, the jail administrator thought Brand was having an inappropriate relationship, so he reported it.

Authorities say they learned an inmate made more than 200 calls to Brand, including explicit ones.

All of those were recorded.

They say Brand committed some of those acts in a janitorial closet and while on duty.

The affidavit states Brand admitted to the incidents, and said she "knew better."

It says the inmate also confirmed the information, and said he and Brand had had a relationship for a few months.
