Judge Janice Sons Becomes President of the TJPCA

A long-time Wichita County Justice of the Peace is now serving as the leader of a state association.

A long-time Wichita County Justice of the Peace was sworn in as the new President of the Texas Justices of the Peace and Constables Association Thursday night.

A reception was held for Judge Janice Sons at the Hotel at Wichita Falls at the Association's annual meeting.

She says one of her main roles as President is to prepare for the legislative session.

Judge Sons says the Association she will lead in the year ahead is made up of over 850 judges and constables across the state and she is looking forward to working with the entire team of professionals.

Janice Sons says, "You are not a leader unless you have those who are willing to support you.  I am very blessed and I have a great group who are willing to support me as we go forward in 2014-2015."

Judge Sons has been in office since 1988.

She has always been very active in community events and organizations in Texoma.

She has served as President of the Arc of Wichita County and as the YMCA board chair.
