Juveniles Taken into Custody after Multi-county High-speed Chase

The suspect vehicle wrecked out into a ditch to end the chase.

Authorities say two juvenile runaways from the metroplex are taken into custody after a high-speed chase through multiple counties.

Archer County Deputy Sheriff Jeremy Maxwell says the Mini Cooper was stopped for a traffic violation in Windthorst but then took off northbound on US 281.

DPS and Wichita County pursued the car, then Clay County sheriff's deputies joined in to help.

Speeds reached more than 130 miles-per-hour before the vehicle wrecked out out into a ditch.

Maxwell says the vehicle was stolen and a juvenile male and juvenile female were transported to the Wichita County Juvenile Center.

They're facing charges of evading with a vehicle and assault of a public servant because the vehicle hit a Wichita County deputy's vehicle during the chase.
