It was beautiful day at Lake Wichita Park Saturday where dozens of people gathered to help raise money for a good cause.
The park was filled with hamburgers, hot dogs and kids activities all hosted by the Lake Arrowhead Volunteer Fire Department.
The Wichita County Sheriff's Office also joined in the fun, handing out kids identification kits and coloring books.
Organizers say they're hoping the money raised will help them expand their building, allowing them to move their tanker from the state park to their fire house.
“I'd really like to bring it home but I don't have a building big enough to put it in and also insulate our buildings because with these cold winters that we're starting to get I can't I can not keep enough heat in there to keep the trucks from freezing up,” says Lake Arrowhead VFD Chief Mike Hall.
Chief Hall says their fire department did lose one structure this winter because the fire truck was frozen, so they are hoping to get the insulation fixed as soon as possible.
