Lake Wichita Study Committee Trying to Turn Survey into Reality

The Lake Wichita Study Committee is taking your opinions seriously and developing a plan for the future of the lake.
The Lake Wichita Study Committee is taking your opinions seriously and developing a plan for the future of the lake.

At their meeting Tuesday they discussed the results of their public survey.

Almost 300 people weighed in on the future of the lake.

Some of the most popular answers showed most people, if given the chance, would take advantage of fishing, boating and swimming activities at the lake.

Committee members say they hope to have a plan ready to present to the city council in the next month.

“Once we get that project put together and the city council approved it then we have to take it to the Corp of Engineers for approval and at that point is when the real work begins,” says Chairman Stephen Garner.
