Lawton Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for October 2012 Murder

A man found guilty of murdering a Lawton woman in October 2012 has been sentenced to life in prison.
In Lawton, the Court Clerk says a man found guilty of murdering a Lawton woman in October 2012 has been sentenced to life in prison.

Stephone Carter was charged with second degree murder in connection to the shooting death of Tanya Zachary inside a Sanders Heights Apartment where she had been babysitting.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge, but this afternoon a jury found guilty of second degree murder.

The jury found him not guilty of two other counts-- conspiracy to commit robbery with a weapon and attempted robber with a weapon.
