Man Accused of Killing His Father Among Those Indicted

Jake Jones is charged with murder.
A Wichita Falls man charged with killing his own father is indicted for the crime.

The Wichita County Grand Jury indicted Jake Edward Jones for the charge of murder.

He's being held in the Wichita County Jail on $1 million bond.

Police say they were called to a home in the 700-block of Marconi St. on July 20 and found 62-year-old Billy Jones lying face down and unresponsive inside the home.

Minutes after, police say they were flagged down by another man in the 700 block of Woods St. pointing to a taxicab yelling "he just shot his daddy."

Police stopped the cab and detained the passenger, who they say was later identified as Jake Jones.

His father was transported to United Regional for a single gun shot wound from a .22 caliber rifle where he later died.

And a man who police say threatened a family dollar clerk with a knife so he could steal less than $10 worth of items from the store will face trial.

The Wichita County Grand Jury decided to indict Jon Scott Greenbay, who's charged with aggravated robbery in the incident.

On July 7, police were called to the Family Dollar on Brook St.

Officials say a clerk saw Greenbay taking items out of the store and confronted him in the parking lot.

Police say Greenbay pulled a knife on the clerk and told the clerk to go back inside before running off.

Officers say they found Greenbay about a block away carrying the stolen merchandise valued at less than 10 bucks.
