Man Accused of Punching, Stabbing Dog

A Wichita Falls man is jailed after a man told police he witnessed the suspect stab a dog multiple times with a pocket knife.

Thirty-seven year-old James Sims is charged with cruelty to non-livestock animals.

According to an arrest affidavit, the witness says Sims told him he was going to kill the dog because he was upset that it had attacked his dog.

He says he saw Sims grab the dog, punch it all over, and stab it with a pocket knife.

The witness told police after the dog was bleeding from the face and head, Sims left the scene.

Officers say the dog had a cut up its left jaw bone that had to be stitched up and its left ear appeared to be cut nearly in half.

Sims is jailed on a $25,000 bond.
