Man Arrested for Choking Police Officer, Woman

A man is behind bars after police say he choked a police officer and a woman this weekend.
35-year-old Paul Thomas Geiger is charged with assault on public servant assault family violence-choking and resisting arrest.

Officers were called to the 2200 block of Avenue G on an assault call Sunday night. Officials say Geiger refused to let police in, came outside and placed a female police officer in a choke hold cutting off her airway.

Police say Geiger also kneed her in the stomach when another officer broke the choke hold.

He was cuffed after a struggle and taken to jail. Police say Geiger assaulted a woman inside the home by pouring beer on her, slapping her in the face and trying to choke her. Police found red marks on her neck.
