A man charged with aggravated assault in a stabbing is now charged with arson, after fire officials say he intentionally set a fire that destroyed a Wichita Falls home.

39- year-old John Henry Ramos has now been charged with arson and aggravated assault.

Just after 5 last Wednesday morning fire crews were called to a house in the 1600 block of Monroe.

When they arrived they found the house fully engulfed in flames.

An affidavit states ramos was seen standing in the drive way of the house next to a gasoline can.

That's when Ramos and one of the residents started to fight and Ramos allegedly stabbed the man.

Witnesses say they saw smoke coming from the back of the house and saw the garage on fire.

According to Assistant Fire Marshall Antoinette Hastings two fire fighters were injured trying to put out the fire.

An affidavit also says the homeowners dog died in the fire.

Ramos is in the Wichita County Jail.

His bond is set at 200 thousand dollars.
