Man Gets Jail Time for Leaving Children Home Alone

Boye Zuah pleaded guilty to three county of abandoning or endangering a child by criminal negligence.
A Wichita Falls man is sentenced to serve more than 200 days in jail after pleading guilty to leaving his children home alone.

Thirty-four year-old Boye Zuah pleaded guilty to three counts of abandoning or endangering a child by criminal negligence for leaving three of his kids at home alone.

He's sentenced to 241 days in state jail.

According to an arrest affidavit, authorities were called to an apartment in the 1000 block of Redwood where they found a two-, five-, and six-year-old home by themselves.

Officers say one of the children told them their mom was at the hospital with their four-year-old sibling who was the victim of a near-drowning incident and that their father was supposed to be watching them but they didn't know where he was.

The next morning, a neighbor reportedly called police and said Zuah was drunk and driving erratically around the apartment complex.

He was arrested for public intoxication and later charged with abandoning his children.
