Man in Costume Arrested for Alleged Burglary of Wichita Theatre

Officers say Michael Robert Beaird Jr. broke into Wichita Theatre, then wore a costume to disguise himself as he was burglarizing the building.
Police say a group of people was able to stop an alleged thief who wore a costume to disguise himself while attempting to steal from the Wichita Theatre.
Michael Robert Beaird Jr. is charged with burglary of a building because of the incident.
Officers say they think Beaird snuck in the building during a late-night rehearsal and hid.
He was discovered walking around Wichita Theatre the next day, wearing a pink wig and glasses from the costume closet.
An arrest affidavit states Beaird had taken a woman's purse from the dressing room, then when he heard her asking others if they had seen it, walked up to her and gave it back.
Witnesses say Beaird was carrying a bag full of props, costumes, and other items he had taken from the building.
Police say employees were able to detain Beaird until police arrived.
He was arrested and booked into Wichita County Jail on the burglary charge.
